About the practitioner
Divya C. Berry
Divya is a Gestalt-trained counsellor and psychologist with close to two decades in mental health across New Delhi and London. She works with adults of all ages on anxious states, moods, coping, relationships, identity and loss.
The Gestalt tradition sits at the centre of the work, held integratively with humanistic, existential and person-centred perspectives. In practice that means attention to what is happening in the room and in the body, not only to the account of the week. Sessions are conducted in English or Hindi.

Questions people ask first
Before you get in touch
- Do I need a referral from my GP?
- No. You can contact Divya directly, and you do not need a diagnosis or a referral of any kind to book.
- Do I have to be in crisis to come to therapy?
- No. Most people arrive because something has been quietly difficult for a while rather than because of an emergency. If you are in crisis and need urgent help, contact your GP, call NHS 111, or call the Samaritans free on 116 123 at any hour.
- How long is a session, and how often?
- Sessions are fifty minutes, usually weekly and at the same time each Tuesday. Some people come for six to twelve sessions with a specific focus, others work open-endedly for longer.
- Where exactly is the room?
- The Wellness Hub, Unit 5, Old Stable House, rear of 53–55 North Cross Road, London SE22 9ET. It is in East Dulwich, a short walk from North Cross Road and Lordship Lane, and reachable from East Dulwich and Peckham Rye stations.
- Are you a therapist in Dulwich taking new clients?
- Yes. Divya is a Gestalt therapist and counsellor working in person in East Dulwich from September 2026, with Tuesday evening appointments at The Wellness Hub on North Cross Road.
- What is Gestalt therapy?
- A humanistic approach that works with what is happening now, in the room and in the body, as well as with the story you bring. It pays attention to awareness, contact and patterns you may not have named yet, rather than only analysing the past.
- Which languages does Divya work in?
- English and Hindi.
- Is what I say confidential?
- Yes. The work is held to the BACP Ethical Framework with regular clinical supervision. Divya will explain the limits of confidentiality in the first session.
